Transshipping massive cargoes of Liquefied Natural Gas at sea and at anchor is complicated and hazardous. The Maltese-flagged Clean Vision (IMO 9655456) is operated by Dynagas Ltd (Greece), which also operates five of the 15 ice-breaking LNG carriers assigned to Russian gas exports from Yamal, Siberia. Russian ice-breaking LNG tankers have been regularly calling at French and Irish yards for maintenance. However, the Vladimir Rusanov after unloading at the Zeebrugge LNG terminal is approaching the Frederikshavn ship repair yard in Denmark. Ice-breaking or conventional LNG tankers are floating bombs.
