A\u00a0Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) ship to ship transfer was carried out on March 13 in the shelter of Kildin Island near Murmansk from the ice-breaking LNG tanker Georgiy Ushakov<\/em> coming fully loaded from the Yamal Peninsula, Siberia, onto the conventional LNG tanker Clean Vision<\/em> arrived in ballast from Dalian, China. Transshipping massive cargoes of Liquefied Natural Gas at sea and at anchor is complicated and hazardous. The Maltese-flagged Clean Vision<\/em> (IMO 9655456) is operated by Dynagas Ltd (Greece), which also operates five of the 15 ice-breaking LNG carriers assigned to Russian gas exports from Yamal, Siberia. The Clean Vision<\/em> according to other sources than the port of Zeebrugge should arrive in the afternoon… in Zeebrugge.<\/p>\n Another ship to ship transfer from the\u00a0Christophe de Margerie<\/em>\u00a0operated by the Russian shipowner Sovcomflot onto the\u00a0Clean Planet<\/em>\u00a0(IMO 9637507), a conventionnal LNG tanker flying the Marshall Islands flag and operated by Dynagas, is being prepared in the shelter of Kildin Island.<\/p>\n Another maritime and port safety issue is in sight. Russian ice-breaking LNG tankers have been regularly calling at French and Irish yards for maintenance. It is unlikely that considering the current circumstances Damen in Brest and other European shipyards will continue to accomodate for repair ice-breaking LNG tankers dedicated to Siberian gas delivery. However, the\u00a0Vladimir Rusanov<\/em>\u00a0after unloading at the Zeebrugge LNG terminal is approaching the Frederikshavn ship repair yard in Denmark. Ice-breaking or conventional LNG tankers are floating bombs. To minimise the risks, they require specific and regular maintenance work.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Fully-loaded The Nikolay Zubov<\/em> left Yamal terminal on March 10. She is currently in the North Sea. Her destination is unknown. Her last European call was Zeebrugge, since the early morning she is again approaching the Belgian port.<\/p>\n The Eduard Toll<\/em> left Yamal terminal on Sunday, March 13. She is sailing off the Norwegian coast. She is expected at Montoir-de-Bretagne on Monday, March 21.<\/p>\n The Boris Vilkitsky<\/em> left Montoir-de-Bretagne on March 6. She sailed up to Siberia in ballast. She left the Yamal terminal on March 15. Her destination is unknown. She is currently off northern Norway.<\/p>\n The Fedor Litke<\/em> left Zeebrugge in ballast on March 7. She docked at Yamal terminal on March 14, she departed on March 16. She is expected at Montoir-de-Bretagne on Thursday, March 24.<\/p>\n The Boris Davydov<\/em> left Dunkirk on March 8. She sailed up to Siberia in ballast. She docked at Yamal terminal on March 16. She has just departed.<\/p>\n The Christophe de Margerie<\/em> arrived in the area of Kildin Island yesterday morning. She should meet with the Clean Planet<\/em> to carry out a ship to ship transfer. The final destination of the Clean Planet is to date unknown. It will be for sure a European LNG gas terminal on the Atlantic coast.<\/p>\n The Vladimir Vize<\/em> left Sines (Portugal) on March 6. She sailed up to Siberia in ballast, she just left Yamal fully-loaded. Her final destination is yet unknown.<\/p>\n In ballast<\/strong> The Yakov Gakkel<\/em> left Montoir-de-Bretagne On March 14. She is sailing up to Siberia in ballast.<\/p>\n The Georgiy Brusilov<\/em> left Yamal terminal on March 8. She arrived at Rotterdam on March 13. She departed on March 14 and is sailing up to Siberia in ballast.<\/p>\n The Rudolf Samoylovich<\/em> left Montoir-de-Bretagne on March 12. She is currently in the Barents Sea. She is sailing up to Siberia in ballast.<\/p>\n The Nikolay Urvantsev<\/em> left Bilbao on March 10. She is sailing up to Siberia in ballast, currently north of \u00a0Novaya Zemlya Islands.<\/p>\n The Vladimir Voronin<\/em> left Rotterdam On March 11. She sailed up to Siberia in ballast. She has docked Yamal terminal and is loading.<\/p>\n The Georgy Ushakov<\/em> left Yamal terminal on March 8.
