Ukraine : Robin des Bois keeps a close watch on grain

Following the exclusive page of Robin des Bois making an inventory of all the cargo ships stucked in the ports of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov (20th of April 2022), the Paris-based NGO publishes from today detailed information on bulk carriers leaving or approaching the ukrainian ports in the context of the international agreement on the freedom of trade in grain and other agri-food products from Ukraine.

The outbound ships
Razoni : Arrived in Odessa on February 18, 2022 coming from Ravenna (Italy), 6 days before the war’s outbreak.
Razoni (ex-Barko Naz, ex-Brota, ex-Dobrota, ex-Unitrader). IMO 9086526. Bulk carrier. Length 186 m. Deadweight 29,292 t. Sierra Leone flag. Classification society Polish Register of Shipping. Built in 1996 in Tianjin (China) by Xingang Shipyard. Owned by Razoni Shipping Ltd registered in Liberia. 61 inspections since 1998 totalling 71 deficiencies. 1 detention in 2006 in Szczecin (Poland). The Razoni is targeted by Port State inspectors. She was inspected in Odessa on February 19, 2022, and 3 deficiencies were reported. To date, we don’t know if she has undergone a security visit by the Ukrainian inspectors after 5 months of immobilization docked in Odessa.
The Razoni set off from Odessa on Monday, August 1, 2022 at 10:00 am (7:00 am GMT) carrying 26.000 tons of corn heading towards Tripoli (Lebanon). She is expected to reach her destination on Saturday, August 6, after a stop in Istanbul where she will be inspected.
Since she set sail from Odessa, the Razoni is escorted by the ukrainian-flagged tug Bulat (IMO 9568536). When reaching the Ukrainian and Romanian water borders, the Bulat turned back in the early hours of Tuesday, August 2nd. She is now sailing towards Odessa. The minesweepers and any other military vessels that escort the Razoni cannot be observed on the screens.
On Tuesday 9 August, refused by the client in Tripoli (Lebanon), the Razoni loaded with 26,000 t of corn is at anchor off the Turkish port of Mersin waiting for a new destination.

Rojen. IMO 9754927. Bulker. Length 185 m. Deadweight 41,550 t. Maltese flag. Classification Society China Classification Society. Built in 2019 in Qidong (China) by Jiangsu Hongqiang. Owned by Rojen Maritime Ltd registered in the Marshall Islands care of Bulgarian Maritime Navigation JSC (Bulgaria). 8 inspections since March 2019 totalling 2 deficiencies. No detentions.
The Rojen departed Chornomorsk on August 5, 2022 at 06:39 (3:39 am tu) loaded with 13,000 t of corn. She reports to be heading for Tees (United Kingdom).

Navi Star (ex-Ocean Bari-Star, ex-Clipper Bari-Star). IMO 9590979. Bulker. Length 180 m. Deadweight 38,243 t. Panamanian flag. Classification society Nippon Kaiji Kyokai. Built in 2011 in Imabari (Japan) by Imabari Zosen. Owned by Navi Corp registered in the Marshall Islands care of O Cetinkaya Denizcilik Transport veTicaret Ltd Sti (Turkey). 38 inspections since January 2012 totalling 29 deficiencies. No detentions.
The Navi Star left Odessa on August 5 at 7:25 a.m. (4:25 a.m. utc) loaded with 33,000 t of corn. She reports to be heading for Ringaskiddy (Ireland).

Polarnet. OMI 9758961. General cargo carrier. Length 136 m. Deadweight 12,242 t. Turkish flag. Classification society Registro Italiano Navale. Built in 2016 in Altinova (Turkey) by Seltas Denizcilik. Owned by Polarnet Iletisim ve Gemi (Turkey). 20 inspections since October 2016 totalling 46 deficiencies. No detention.
The Polarnet left Chornomorsk on August 5 at 8:13 am (5:13 am utc) loaded with 12,000 t of corn. She reports to be heading for Karasu (Turkey).

The Rojen, the Polarnet and the Navi Star met off Chornomorsk and are heading in convoy for the Bosporus. At the beginning of the voyage, they were sailing along with the tug Kapitan Nezavitin (IMO 8027145) which is now returning to Chornomorsk. Navy vessels sailing along with the convoy do not appear on the screens.

Mustafa Necati (ex-Armada Pride). IMO 9736690. Tanker. Length 140 m. Deadweight 7,162 t. Liberian flag. Classification society Bureau Veritas. Built in 2015 in Yapim (Turkey) by TVK Gemi. Owned by Topkapi Shipping Inc registered in the Marshall Islands care of Statu Gemi Kiralama ve Ticaret Ltd (Turkey). 15 inspections since January 2016 totalling 15 deficiencies. Detained in 2020 in Novorossiysk (Russia). Arrived in Chornomorsk on February 11, 2022 from Batumi (Georgia).
The Mustafa Necati left Chornomorsk on August 7 at 6:31 am (3:31 am utc) loaded with 6,000 t of sunflower oil. She reports to be heading for Italia.

Star Helena (ex-Iron Bill, ex-Iron Elisabeth, ex-Bulk Nine). IMO 9361213. Bulk carrier. Length 229 m. Marshall Islands flag. Classification society Bureau Veritas. Built in 2006 in Fukuyama (Japan) by Tsuneishi. Owned by Star Trident XVII LLC registered in the Marshall Islands care of Starbulk SA. 46 inspections totalling 63 deficiencies. Detained in 2021 in Abbott Point (Australia). Arrived in Chornomorsk on February 22, 2022 from Port Soudan.
The Star Helena left Chornomorsk on August 7 at 7:08 am (4:08 am utc) loaded with 45,000 t of meal. She reports to be heading for China.

Built in 2005 in Ningbo (China) by Zhejiang SB Co. Owned by Avantage Shipping Co registered in the Marshall Islands care of Seamax Marine Inc (Greece). 32 inspections since September 2005 totalling 85 deficiencies. Detained in 2019 in Tianjin (China). Arrived in Odessa on February 17, 2022.
The Riva Wind left Odessa on August 7 at 7:36 am (4:36 am utc) loaded with 44,000 t of corn. She reports to be heading for Iskenderun (Turkey).

Arrived in Chornomorskon on February 19, 2022.

37 inspections since December 2010 totalling 39 deficiences. Detained in 2015 à La New Orleans (United States of America).
Arrived on February 19, 2022. The Arizona left Chornomorsk on August 8 at 8:34 (5:34 am utc) loaded with 48,459 t of corn. She reports to be heading for Iskenderun (Turkey).

The inbound ships
Osprey S (ex-New Glory, ex-Clipper Glory, ex-Clipper Transporter). IMO 9300843. Liberian flag. The ship is in very poor condition. Built in 2007 in Qinhuangdao (China) by Shanhaiguan shipyard, length 179 m, deadweight 30,570 t. Classification society since 2019 Bureau Veritas. Owned by Osprey Shipping & Trading Ltd registered in the Marshall Islands care of Armador GemiIsletmeciligi Ticaret Ltd (Turkey), also her ship manager. 54 inspections since 2007 totalling 148 deficiencies. 4 detentions in 2012 in Brisbane (Australia), in 2016 in Corpus Christi (USA), in 2018 in Gabes (Tunisia) and in 2019 in Antwerp (Belgium) for 51 days with 36 deficiencies.
She departed from Iskenderun on July 31. She is expected in the Ukrainian port of Chornomorsk.

Fulmar S (ex-Diana). IMO 9370082. General cargo carrier. Length 136 m. Deadweight 13,450 t. Barbados flag. Classification society Bureau Veritas. Built in 2007 in China by Jiangsu Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Co Ltd. Owned by Fulmar Shipping& Trading Co (Turkey), at the same address as the owner of the Osprey S. 40 inspections since September 2007 totalling 97 deficiencies. Detained in 2019 in Novorossiysk (Russia).
The general cargo carrier Fulmar S (IMO 9370082) left Bandirma (Turkey) on July 27, dropped anchor off Tuzla on July 28, sailed upbound the Bosporus Strait on July 2 and dropped anchored in the Black Sea. She is expected in Chornomorsk on August 4. At midday, she is still anchored outside Bosphorus on the Black Sea side.

She is expected in Yuzhny on August 10.

49 inspections since February 2006 totalling 385 deficiencies. 15 detentions :  in 2009 in Brindisi (Italy), in 2010 in Castellon de la Plana (Spain), in 2011 in Salerno and in Porto Nogaro (Italy), in 2012 in Alicante (Spain), in 2013 in Mersin (Turkey), in 2014 in Aliaga (Turkey), in 2015 in Chioggia (Italy), in 2016 in Tripoli (Lebanon) and Thessaloniki (Greece), in 2017 in Porto Nogaro again, in 2018 in Varna (Bulgaria), in 2020 in Alexandria (Egypt) and in 2022 in Salerno again then in Haïfa (Israel).
